SAB NewsThe SAB Global Community – Eleven Years and ThrivingPosted 9/15/2008 The Science Advisory Board celebrated its 11th anniversary on September 12, 2008. With 38,000+ members worldwide, it’s no surprise that The Science Advisory Board is one of the most popular and long-lasting scientific communities online. Our members are involved in most aspects of The SAB -- from the community forums, to submitted reviews of resources, tools, and techniques used by scientists, to articles such as Perspectives that provide novel and insightful viewpoints on topics in the life sciences. These contributions enable the reader to experience a wide spectra of opinions and subject matter and this collection of material is made possible by the international SAB members that provide original material in their successful efforts to keep the community thriving. You may remember a previous SAB News article posted earlier this year - The Science Advisory Board Embraces the Globalization of Life Science, in which we outlined the theme and direction of this year’s efforts to attract even more global members and foster communication between them. In fact, this year’s Steering Committee reflects the diversity and knowledge of The SAB; their contributions, from Member Spotlight interviews to Perspective articles, have provided a wide range of international topics for discussion and collaboration among members. As we continue to attract additional scientists from countries worldwide, we invite you to give us feedback on current efforts or provide suggestions on ways that could facilitate communication among members of The SAB: - What would you like to see on www.scienceboard.net? - What kinds of articles would you like to read? - What community features would you be interested in participating in that bridge the gap between members by furthering discussion and the transfer of ideas? All comments and suggestions are welcome. Please email us your ideas, and we sincerely thank you for being a part of The Science Advisory Board – here’s to another successful year! |
