Posted 2/25/2008

The Science Advisory Board would like to congratulate one of its members, Dr. Madhugiri Nageswara Rao, on being named one of "Tomorrow's PI's: Rising Young Investigators" in the January 2008 issue of Genome Technology Magazine, New York. Dr. Rao is a staff scientist at the Citrus Research and Education Center, Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences, University of Florida, and his work was recently highlighted in an SAB Member Spotlight, along with collaborator and fellow SAB member, Dr. Jaya R. Soneji. These ‘up-and-coming young scientists’ are focused on leading-edge disciplines within molecular biology, including genome sequencing, stem cells, synthetic biology, microarrays, and computational biology. Dr. Nageswara Rao is the only one from Florida who has been honored and will be receiving a commemorate plaque and travel grant.
